Local Volunteer’s Decades of Service Recognised

A Nettleham resident who has worked for decades in our community as a volunteer has had her service recognised.

Vice-Chairman of Nettleham Parish Council, Cllr. Jo Siddall, commented:

“Sheila McGuiness, one of our village stalwarts. Sheila was recently nominated for an award, in the 2017 John Barker Trophy competition, for service to Parish and Village Halls, run by Community Lincs.”

Sheila was judged in the “Long Service” category, having given over 40 years of outstanding service to Nettleham Village Hall, as a Trustee, Bookings Secretary and Committee Member and in a variety of practical roles. She was awarded the Runner-Up Certificate and is pictured receiving the award from Cllr. John Evans, Chairman of Nettleham Parish Council. Cllr. Siddall concluded:

“Sheila, and many more like her, are the unsung heroes who give so much to our village, without any thought of personal reward. I am sure you will join me in shouting a big thank-you to this great lady.”
