The plan has been worked on for a number of years and adoption by West Lindsey District Council, who are the local planning authority, is the final stage of a substantive process that involves multiple public consultations, professional examination and a referendum.

Cllr. Giles McNeill, who represents the Nettleham Ward and is a member of the Planning Committee, proposed the motion to adopt the plan and said:-

“It is great that the Nettleham Neighbourhood Plan has finally reached this end stage. I am very grateful to my Parish Council colleagues, councillors Joe Siddall, John Evans and Terry Williams, our Chairman, for coming to the Guildhall this evening.”

The adoption of the Nettleham Neighbourhood Plan means the documents, and specifically the policies contained therein, now have the maximum possible weight when planning applications are being determined.
